If your email suddenly stops working, don’t panic. Most issues are quick to resolve.

Start with these simple checks.


1. Check your internet connection

Open a web browser and try visiting a few websites.
If nothing loads, restart your modem or router and wait a few minutes.


2. Restart Outlook

Close Outlook fully and reopen it.
You’d be surprised how often this fixes the issue.


3. Make sure Outlook isn’t in “Work Offline” mode

In Outlook:

  • Click the Send/Receive tab

  • Make sure “Work Offline” is not highlighted

If it is, click it once to turn it off.


4. Check your mailbox size

If your mailbox is full, emails won’t send or arrive.
Delete anything you no longer need and empty your Deleted Items folder.


5. Look at your Outbox

If a large attachment is stuck there, it can block everything else.
Delete it or try sending it again.
